About the Stars

The Stars lost their first game out of the All-Star break, falling 4-1 to the Vancouver Canucks at American Airlines Center on Tuesday. The Stars were 0-5 on the power play in the game and gave up two power play goals and one shorthanded goal.

“We knew what to expect with the special teams and we came up short again tonight,” said Stars captain Brenden Morrow. “Against this team it’s reoccurring. Our penalty kill hasn’t been strong, we gave up a shorthanded goal and our power play could have gotten us into the game and it came up short.”

The Stars are 1-3-0 over their last four games with two of the losses coming to Vancouver.

Andrew Raycroft is expected to start in goal for the Stars on Thursday.

The Stars have recalled forward Ray Sawada from the Texas Stars (AHL).

Injuries: D Mark Fistric (illness) is questionable. F Travis Morin (illness) is out. F Jamie Benn (shoulder), F Tom Wandell (shoulder) and F Toby Petersen (leg) are out.

About the Bruins

The Bruins won their first game out of the break, beating Carolina 3-2. Nathan Horton and Patrice Bergeron scored third period goals that turned a 1-1 game into a 3-1 Boston lead.

"We found a way to win against a hungry team that's battling to get into a playoff spot," said Boston goalie Tim Thomas, who made 24 saves. "They played good, and we played pretty good defensively but weren't getting too much started. We went into the third and found a way to win."

The Bruins are 8-3-0 in their last 11 games.

Injuries: C Marc Savard (concussion) is out.
