FRISCO -- Dallas Stars forward Adam Burish will miss his second straight game due to a lower body injury, according to coach Marc Crawford. Burish, who sat out Sunday's game against Los Angeles, did not practice Monday in Frisco and will not play Tuesday against San Jose.
"Adam's got a lower body injury and he's out against tomorrow," Crawford said after Monday's practice. "Basically, we're going to watch him progress here day by day and hopefully he continues to improve. He blocked a shot some time back and he's had some pain with it. Anybody that's watched us can see that it has affected his skating. We've made the decision to shut him down for a bit to see if that's going to make an improvement on it. As soon as he gets that improvement we all know that he'll be back in the lineup."
On the goaltending front, Crawford said he'll continue to ride Kari Lehtonen, who has started in ten straight games and 19 of the last 21 games. One of those games he didn't start he still ended up playing 58 minutes when Andrew Raycroft was pulled early.
"It's going to be a lot of Kari," said Crawford. "We're monitoring Kari as much as we can on our practice days and our off days, where we're going to limit the stress or the wear and tear in those areas. We've got to get him enough that he is sharp and allows himself to have that agony of repetition that allows you to be sharp. I think he's really played well for us. I think he's played with the energy that we want to see. And our games are spaced out right now so that we don't have to play him back-to-back."
