Mike Modano wants in for Game 4
By Mark Stepneski
The Detroit Red Wings are down 3-0 to the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference Semifinals and tonight could be the end of the road for the Red Wings. Maybe for Mike Modano too. This could be his last chance to get into a game since he's considering retiring after this season. He's only played in one of Detroit's playoff games so far and is itching for coach Mike Babcock to put him in tonight against the Sharks. ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun has the story:
Mike Modano won't hide it. He wants in for Game 4.
Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said Thursday he was still considering possible lineup changes, including whether or not to insert Modano, but would wait until Friday to decide.
"You'd love to be out there, there's no question," Modano said Thursday. "It's a situation where Mike is making that final decision. But I don't know anything about tomorrow until I come in here and see what's on the board. It hurts not being out there, it's tough to deal with. But you do what you can to say ready."
