Stars take 3-2 lead in second period
By Dennis Hall
I've written and rewritten this blog post three times now, but the goals are coming so fast that I can't get it posted before another puck goes in the net.
Dallas' Brandon Segal just scored his second goal in a minute and a half to give Dallas a 3-2 lead. He's giving the Stars a big boost after Colorado had taken a 2-1 lead on a beautiful power-play goal by Colorado's Darcy Tucker.
Segal's first goal came on a rebound followup of a Brad Richards shot. The second came on a slapshot after a drop pass from Mike Ribeiro.
Segal has gotten his team and a crowd of 16,246 fired up. The Stars have dominated the whole game but didn't have much to show for it until Segal got in the action.
By the way, Segal was scratched from Friday's game against LA. If he wants to show coach Marc Crawford that he should be in the lineup night in and night out, this is the way to do it.
