About the Stars
The Stars (5-1-0) ran their winning streak to four games with a 3-2 victory at Columbus on Tuesday. That game kicked off a stretch of four straight on the road for the Stars. The next three are against divisional opponents Anaheim, Los Angeles and Phoenix.
“These are big division games and teams we’re going to see a lot,” Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski said. “These road trips are where you see what your team is made of. It’ll be a good test for us.”
Kari Lehtonen, who stopped 38 shots in Tuesday’s win over Columbus, will get the start in goal Friday against the Ducks.
Injuries: Sheldon Souray (wrist) is probable.
About the Ducks
The Ducks (4-1-0) won their fourth straight game, topping the Sharks 3-2 in San Jose on Monday. Teemu Selanne scored a pair of first period goals and backup goaltender Dan Ellis made 41 saves.
“You don't want to be the guy that loses a little bit of a streak,” Ellis told the Orange County Register. “In the same way, when you are on a little bit of a losing streak, you want to be the guy to snap it a little bit. You take pride in those opportunities.”
The Ducks are off to their best start since 2006-07, when they won the Stanley Cup.
Injuries: F Jason Blake (wrist) and D Matt Smaby (thumb) are out.
