Texas Stars Report

The past week
The Texas Stars went 1-1-0 over the past week and are now 2-3-0 on the season.
Thursday they rallied from a 3-1 deficit to tie San Antonio, but the Rampage scored with 1:48 left in regulation to win 4-3 at Cedar Park Center. Tomas Vincour scored two goals for the Stars and Travis Morin scored as well. Richard Bachman started in net and stopped 15 of 19 shots.
On Saturday the Stars won a 6-5 overtime thriller against Peoria in Cedar Park. The Stars overcame a 4-2 first period deficit and took a 6-5 lead into the third period. The Rivermen tied the game midway through the final period of regulation before the Stars won in OT. Matt Fraser scored two goals, including the game-winner with 3:00 left in overtime, and added an assist. Morin had one goal and three assists and defenseman Philip Larsen had four assists. Bachman made 34 saves and chipped in with an assist.
The Stars play four games this week, all of them on the road.
*LW Matt Fraser is currently tied for third among AHL in rookies in goal scoring (4) and is tied for ninth in points (6). Fraser leads all rookies with 27 shots on goal.
*D Dan Spang is tied for second among AHL defenseman in scoring with 6 points (2 goals, 4 assists)
F Scott Glennie, who missed all of Dallas’ training camp with concussion-like symptoms, played his first two games for Texas this past week. He had no points and two shots on goal.

The Steelheads lost all three games they played at Alaska this past week and are 1-4-0 so far this season. Forward Tristan King, who started the season on IR in the ECHL, scored his first goal of the season in Idaho’s 4-2 loss to Alaska on Thursday.
