Texas Stars Report

The past week
The Texas Stars went 2-2-0 on a four-game road trip over the past week. The Stars are now 4-5-0 on the season and are currently in fourth place in the AHL’s West Division.
The Stars opened the week with a 6-2 win at Rockford Tuesday. Matt Fraser scored two goals, Philip Larsen had one goal and one assist and Ray Sawada had three assists for the Stars. Tyler Beskorowany stopped 33 shots for his first win of the season.
On the Thursday, the Stars lost 5-3 at Peoria. Fraser, Jordie Benn and Tomas Vincour scored goals for Texas, which fell behind 3-0, rallied to tie but then saw Peoria score with 6:45 left in regulation to snap the tie. Richard Bachman got the start in goal and stopped 28 of 32 shots.
The Stars lost 2-1 at Chicago on Saturday. Texas outshot the Wolves 34-22, but Tomas Vincour was the only Star to score a goal. Beskorowany stopped 20 of 22 shots in goal.
Texas finished out the road trip with a 5-3 victory at Milwaukee. Sawada had one goal and two assists and Fraser had one goal and one assist. Vincour, Francis Wathier and Travis Morin also scored and Larsen had two assists. Bachman stopped 22 of 25 shots.
*LW Matt Fraser had four goals in four games last week. He now has eight in nine games this season. He ranks second among AHL rookies in goal scoring and is third in points (eleven).
*D Philip Larsen ranks fourth among AHL defenseman with eight points (one goal, seven assists).
*Larsen is second among AHL defenseman in power play points (six) and power play assists (five).
*RW Tomas Vincour is currently riding a three-game goal scoring streak and has five goals in his last six games.
*RW Ray Sawada had seven points (one goal, six assists) during Texas’ four-game road trip.
*Texas has the top power play in the AHL at 37.0% (17-46).
*Half of Texas’ goals this season have come on the power play (17 of 34).

*10/29: F Tyler Arnason released from professional tryout contract.
The Idaho Steelheads were 0-2-0 over the past week. The Steelheads are now 1-6-0 on the season. Ondrej Roman, assigned to Idaho last week from the Texas Stars, had two goals and one assist in his first two games with the Steelheads. Idaho hosts Las Vegas for three games this week.
