Texas Stars Report

The past week
The Texas Stars went 1-2-0 over the past week to drop to 8-10-1 on the season. The Stars are currently in fifth place in the AHL’s West Division.
The Stars opened the week with a 3-2 loss against Chicago in Cedar Park. The Wolves scored twice in the first 3:55 of the game and the Stars could never catch up. Jordie Benn had one goal and one assist for Texas, and Ryan Garbutt also scored a goal. Tyler Beskorowany stopped 24 of 27 shots.
The Stars won 2-1 in overtime at Houston on Friday. Richard Bachman stopped 31 of 32 shots for the Stars and Maxime Fortunus scored the game-winner with 37 seconds left in overtime. Scott Glennie scored Texas’ goal in regulation.
The Stars lost 4-2 to Houston in Cedar Park. Goals by Mike Hedden and Jordie Benn gave Texas a 2-1 lead, but the Aeros scored three unanswered goals to secure the victory. Bachman stopped 22 of 26 shots in the game.

Texas signs goalie Spratt to PTO
With goaltender Richard Bachman called up to Dallas due to an injury to Kari Lehtonen, Texas signed goaltender Jimmy Spratt to a professional tryout agreement Monday.
Spratt, a third-year pro, has played 12 games with Idaho of the ECHL this season, posting a 5-5-0 record, a 2.95 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.
Spratt played with Toledo and Victoria of the ECHL, as well as Rapid City of the CHL last season.
*D Jordie Benn has points in six of the last seven games (4 goals, 3 assists). Benn is tied for the lead in goals among AHL defensemen with 6 and is tied for sixth in scoring among defensemen with 12 points.
*F Scott Glennie has points in three straight games (1 goal, 3 assists). Glennie, Dallas’ first round pick (8th overall in 2009) has 6 points (2 goals, 4 assists) in 16 games.

The Steelheads went 1-1-1 in a three-game series at Colorado last week. Idaho is 7-9-3 on the season and is in fourth place in the ECHL’s Mountain Division.
