About the Stars
The Stars (22-16-1) are coming off a 4-1 victory at Nashville Thursday. Mike Ribeiro scored two goals for the Stars, who also got goals from Jamie Benn and Tom Wandell.
“Guys stepped up to the plate,” Benn said. “We got a full effort from every player, and got a big two points. (Ribeiro) was one of our players that stood out and got us going there with two big goals. We need that from him. He’s one of our best players and it’s good to see.”
Kari Lehtonen, who stopped 24 of 25 shots Thursday, will start in goal for the Stars on Saturday.
Injuries: D Sheldon Souray (ankle), D Philip Larsen (concussion-like symptoms) and RW Tomas Vincour (knee) are out.
About the Oilers
The Oilers (16-21-3) are coming off a 4-3 loss at St. Louis on Thursday. The Oilers led 3-1 after two periods but gave up two power play goals early in the third and then St. Louis’ Matt D’Agostini scored the game winner with 11:01 left in the game.
“Tough losses add up," Oilers goaltender Devan Dubnyk said. "That's a game we need to win and we should win.”
The Oilers wrap up a seven-game road trip on Saturday. They are 1-5-0 in the first six games.
Injuries: D Ryan Whitney (ankle) and D Tom Gilbert (knee) are questionable. C Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (shoulder), D Cam Barker (ankle), D Taylor Fedun (leg) and D Alex Plante (concussion) are out.
