Monday update: Lehtonen to start vs. Red Wings
By Mark Stepneski
FRISCO -- The Stars held an optional skate in Frisco this morning. There were 10 players on the ice: Adam Burish, Tom Wandell, Nicklas Grossman, Mark Fistric, Philip Larsen, Tomas Vincour, Toby Petersen, Jake Dowell, Adam Pardy and Richard Bachman.
Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said Kari Lehtonen will get the start in goal Tuesday in Detroit.
Defenseman Sheldon Souray remains day-to-day with a foot injury.
Outside of Souray and captain Brenden Morrow, who is on injured reserve, the Stars should have everybody else available for tomorrow's game against Detroit.
The Red Wings are on a roll at home and will be going for an NHL-record 21 consecutive home victory.
"We need to get on (a roll)," said Stars defenseman Mark Fistric. "When we go into Detroit we've got to put all that aside, play Dallas Stars hockey and have a good working effort. We need to play a full 60 minutes. We had a good effort against them at home the last time (3-2 shootout loss). We're right there and it's a game we want to go in there and win."
