About the Stars
The Stars (39-26-5) won their sixth straight game, defeating Minnesota 1-0 at Excel Energy Center in St. Paul on Tuesday night. Kari Lehtonen stopped 25 shots for his second straight shutout and fourth of the season.
“We keep playing simple and hard,” said Lehtonen. "We don’t try to do too much, that’s the bottom line. We’ve been able to eliminate the big mistakes. We have enough skill to get a couple of goals and try to play really tight defense. That’s been working.”
The Stars have points in 11 straight games (10-0-1) and have not lost in regulation since February 19.
Injuries: RW Radek Dvorak (ankle) is questionable. D Sheldon Souray (lower body) is doubtful.
About the Jets
The Jets (32-29-8) are coming off a 5-3 loss at Calgary on Friday. The Jets, who have lost two straight, outshot the Flames 45-27, but lost the special teams battle, going 0-3 on the penalty kill.
"We outshot them, we had over 40 shots, we got pucks to the net, but their goalie made some key saves," Jets forward Evander Kane said. "We gave up three goals on the power play, too, gave up five goals collectively. It's tough to win hockey games that way."
Winnipeg is in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, six points out of the final playoff spot.
Wednesday’s game begins a three-game homestand for the Jets.
Injuries: D Dustin Byfuglien (lower body) is probable. D Zach Bogosian (wrist) is questionable. RW Chris Thorburn (lower body) is out.
