Game summary: Dallas Stars 5, New York Islanders 4 (OT)

The Dallas Stars beat the New York Islanders 5-4 in a shootout Saturday to improve to 2-0-0 on the season. It’s the first time the Stars have won the first two games of the season since 2006-07 and the first time the Stars have ever won two road games to open the season.  Kari Lehtonen stopped 43 shots in regulation and overtime and all three shots he faced in the shootout. Mike Ribeiro scored the only goal of the shootout and had two assists in the game. Brenden Morrow had two goals and Jamie Benn and Stephane Robidas also scored. Brad Richards had two assists.
