Game summary: NY Rangers 3, Dallas Stars 2 (SO)
The Dallas Stars lost 3-2 in a shootout to the New York Rangers Friday at American Airlines Center. The loss pushed the Stars winless streak at home to five games (0-3-2). Brian Sutherby and Mike Ribeiro scored goals. Kari Lehtonen stopped 29 shots in regulation and overtime and one of two in the shootout.
*Three of the Stars’ five losses during their home winless streak have been by one goal and two have come in a shootout.
*The Stars are now 4-4 in shootouts this season and 8-5 in games that have been settled beyond regulation.
*The Stars have allowed six power play goals in their last three home games and are 5-11 on the penalty kill during that stretch.
*The Stars were 1-4 on the power play Friday and are now 6-13 on the PP in their last four games overall.
