Texas Stars/Idaho Steelheads Report

The past week
The Texas Stars went 3-1-0 over the past week, moving up to third place in the AHL’s West Division and to within one point of first place. The Stars are in second place based on points percentage.
Texas, playing the second of eight straight on the road, lost 4-2 at Lake Erie on Wednesday. Michael Neal scored one of the goals for Texas and Brent Krahn stopped 32 of 36 shots.
On Friday, the Stars beat Grand Rapids 3-2 in a shootout. Brandon Segal scored the game-tying goal early in the third period and Francis Wathier scored the lone goal of the shootout. Richard Bachman made 35 saves in regulation and overtime, and then stopped all five shooters he faced in the shootout.
The Stars made it two straight wins with a 3-2 win at Chicago on Saturday. Bachman stopped 42 of 44 shots and Wathier, Colton Sceviour and Greg Rallo scored the goals.
On Sunday the Stars won 2-1 behind a 34-save effort from Tyler Beskorowany, who was called up from the ECHL due to an injury to Brent Krahn. Sean Backman and Mathieu Tousignant were the goal scorers.

Notes: Krahn out again
Texas Stars goalie Brent Krahn is considered day-to-day with a lower body injury. Krahn is out after returning less than three weeks ago from an injury that kept him out almost three months.
Tyler Beskorowany was brought up from Idaho (ECHL) to backup No.1 goalie Richard Bachman.
Defenseman Philip Larsen and forward Travis Morin have also been out with injury for Texas as well.

The Idaho Steelheads went 0-1-1 over the past week. They are 24-18-11 on the season and are currently fifth in the ECHL’s Western Conference.
