Texas Stars/Idaho Steelheads Report

The past week
The Stars were 1-1-0 this past week, splitting a pair of games in Manitoba.
On Friday, the Stars lost 4-3 to the Moose. Aaron Gagnon and Travis Morin were among the goal scorers for Texas. Tyler Beskorowany got the start in goal, but was pulled seven in minutes into the second after giving up three goals on 14 shots and Texas down 3-1 in the game. Richard Bachman played the rest of the way, giving up one goal on 16 shots.
On Sunday, Greg Rallo scored three goals and Bachman stopped 31 shots as the Stars beat the Moose 5-1. Sean Backman and Mathieu Tousignant also scored and Morin chipped in two assists to run his points streak to four games (4 goals, 2 assists).
The Stars return home now where they will kick off a five-game homestand on Tuesday.

AHL playoff race
The Texas Stars currently sit in third place in the AHL’s West Division with a 36-24-10 record. West division race is tight though, with just three points separating the Stars and seventh place San Antonio after Sunday’s games.
The top four teams in the West Division will make the playoffs and the fifth place team from the West can get in as well if it finishes with more points than the fourth place team in the North Division.

The Idaho Steelheads went 0-2-1 over the past week. The Steelheads, who have already clinched a playoff spot, are currently in fifth place in the ECHL’s Western Conference with 29-24-13 record.
