About the Stars
The Stars are coming off a 2-1 shootout loss at Phoenix Tuesday. The Stars outshot the Coyotes 45-27 in the game, but could get only one puck past Phoenix goalie Ilya Bryzgalov in regulation.
“We deserved a win tonight, but we didn’t get it,” coach Marc Crawford said. “I told the guys after the game that you have efforts like that you’re going to win 95-98 percent of your games. Their goalie was terrific tonight, and he was the difference for them. They needed every one of the saves he made.”
The Stars are winless in their last four games (0-1-3).
Kari Lehtonen is expected to make his 17th consecutive start for the Stars.
Injuries: D Karlis Skrastins (leg laceration) is day-to-day. D Nicklas Grossman (knee), F Adam Burish (leg) and F Brian Sutherby (back) are out.
About the Sharks
The Sharks last played Saturday, winning 4-1 at Phoenix. San Jose ran its points streak to six games (5-0-1). San Jose can clinch a playoff spot with a regulation win Thursday night.
