*Stars prospect Patrik Nemeth has been named to Sweden’s Under-20 team that will play in the 4-Nations tournament in Nykoping, Sweden early next month. Teams from Finland, Russia and Czech Republic will also take part.
For Nemeth, who was the Stars’ second-round pick (41st overall) in this summer’s NHL Draft, it’s an opportunity to make an impression on those who will select Sweden’s team for the 2011 World Junior Championship in Buffalo. Nemeth is one of several 18-year-olds who are getting a look at this tournament.
Nemeth is training with AIK of the Swedish Elite League right now. He has one goal in three exhibition games.
*Defenseman John Klingberg, the Stars’ fifth-round pick (131st overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft, is currently playing for Frolunda’s Under-20 team at the European Trophy Junior Tournament in Karlstad, Sweden.
Klingberg has two assists, a plus-two rating and seven shots-on-goal in three games. Frolunda, which is 3-0 in tournament play so far, has a final round-robin game Saturday and then a final placement game Sunday.
