Here are some notes and a statistical update on Dallas Stars prospects playing junior hockey, in Europe and in college.

*RW Alex Chiasson (2nd round/2009) had two goals, including the series-winning goal in double overtime, and four assists as Boston University beat New Hampshire in three games in the Hockey East Quarterfinals. “It was probably one of the biggest goals of my career,” Chiasson told the media about his series-winner after the game. BU takes on Maine in the Hockey East semifinals this weekend.

*RW Reilly Smith (3rd round/2009) had one goal and four assists as Miami swept a best-of-three CCHA series against Michigan State over the weekend. Miami outscored Michigan 10-1 in the two games. Stars prospect Curtis McKenzie (6th round/2009) had one goal and one assist in the first game of the series for Miami,which plays Western Michigan in the CCHA semifinals.

*F Austin Smith (5th round/2007) had two goals and two assists as Colgate beat Quinnipiac in three-games in the ECAC quarterfinals. Smith had one goal and one assist in Colgate’s 4-0 victory in the third and deciding game of the series. Colgate plays Union in the ECAC semis.

*LW Alex Guptill (3rd round/2010) had one assist as Michigan swept Notre Dame in the quarterfinals of the CCHA tournament. Michigan plays Bowling Green in the semifinals.

*D Mike Bergin had three assists as RPI was swept by Union in the ECAC tournament. Bergin, a senior, wrapped up his collegiate career.

*F Scott Winkler (3rd round/2008) scored one goal in three games as Colorado College lost its series against Michigan Tech in the WCHA quarterfinals. Winkler, a junior, has one year left at Colorado College.

*D Patrik Nemeth (2nd round/2010) has one assist and a plus-two rating in the first two games of the Swedish Elite Playoffs. AIK is tied 1-1 in its first round best-of-seven series.

*D John Klingberg (5th round/2010) has no points in his first two games of the Swedish Elite League Playoffs. Skelleftea leads its best-of-seven series 2-0.

*C Emil Molin (4th round/2011) will be playing for Brynas in Sweden’s Junior playoffs. Those playoffs begin this week.

*The Canadian junior leagues wrap up the regular season this week and the playoffs in the OHL, WHL and QMJHL just around the corner.

Here are some notes and a statistical update on Dallas Stars prospects playing junior hockey, in Europe and in college.

*RW Reilly Smith (3rd round/2009) was named All-CCHA First Team on Wednesday. Smith, a junior, led the CCHA in goal scoring and ranked second nationally with 26 in 34 games for Miami University.

*LW Alex Guptill (3rd round/2010) was named to the CCHA All-Rookie Team. Guptill led all CCHA rookies in scoring and ranked seventh nationally with 31 points (16 goals, 15 assists) in 36 games for Michigan.

College tournaments

College tournament play began over the weekend and continues this weekend. All Dallas prospects in college will be in action.

*RW Alex Chiasson (2nd round/2009) and Boston University will take on New Hampshire in the Hockey East Quarterfinals.

*RW Reilly and LW Curtis McKenzie’s (6th round/2009) Miami University team will take on Michigan State in the CCHA quarterfinals.

*LW Alex Guptill and Michigan will take on Notre Dame in the CCHA quarterfinals.

*F Austin Smith (5th round/2007) and Colgate take on Quinnipiac in the ECAC quarterfinals.

*D Mike Bergin (7th round/2008) and RPI will take on Union in the ECAC quarterfinals. Bergin scored the game-winning goal as RPI beat Clarkson 4-1 in the third and final game of the first round series. Bergin had two assists in RPI’s win in the first game of the best-of-three series.

*F Scott Winkler (3rd round/2008) and Colorado College will play Michigan Tech in the WCHA tournament

*F Nico Sacchetti (2nd round/2007) and Minnesota play Alaska-Anchorage in the WCHA tournament.

European playoffs

*The Swedish Elite League playoffs begin this weekend. Stars defense prospects Patrik Nemeth (2nd round/2010) and John Klingberg (5th round/2010) will be playing.

Here are some notes and a statistical update on Dallas Stars prospects playing junior hockey, in Europe and in college.

*D Jamie Oleksiak (1st round/2011) had 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) and a plus-7 rating in Niagara’s (OHL) 11-0 win over Mississauga last Thursday. Oleksiak is currently riding a three-game points streak, his first of the season, and has 2 goals, 4 assists and a plus-9 rating during that stretch.

*RW Brett Ritchie (2nd round/2011) has points in 9 of his last 11 games for Niagara (OHL) and has 12 points (8 goals, 4 assists) during that stretch.

*RW Matej Stransky (6th round/2011) had 3 goals and 2 assists in 4 games for Saskatoon (WHL) over the past week. Stransky has 60 points (31 goals, 29 assists) in 55 games and leads Saskatoon in goals and points.

RW Alex Chiasson (2nd round/2009) has points in 10 of his last 11 games for Boston University and has 17 points (6 goals, 11 assists during that stretch. Chiasson, a junior, is tied for team lead in scoring with 29 points (11 goals, 18 assists) in 26 games.

RW Reilly Smith (3rd round/2009) has points in 11 of his last 14 games for Miami University and has 16 points (10 goals, 6 assists) during that stretch. Smith, a junior, is tied for second in the nation in goal scoring with 21 in 30 games.

F Austin Smith (5th round/2007) had a goal in each of Colgate’s games over the weekend. Smith, a senior, leads the nation with 32 goals in 30 games and is third in the nation with 47 points.

*D Troy Vance (5th round/2011) returned to action for Victoriaville (QMJHL) after missing time with a hip injury.

*F Scott Winkler (3rd round/2008) has been out with an upper body injury for Colorado College.

Some notes and a statistical update on Dallas Stars prospects playing junior hockey in Europe or in college:

*D Jamie Oleksiak (1st round/2011) survived the first round of cuts at Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp in Calgary. Oleksiak is one of 11 defensemen remaining at the camp, which is being used to determine Canada’s roster for the 2012 World Junior Championship. Final cuts are expected to be announced Wednesday.

*G Jack Campbell (1st round/2010) made 46 saves in Sault Ste. Marie’s 5-2 win over Ottawa on Friday. Campbell is 6-4-3 with a 2.90 goals against average and .911 save percentage since joining the OHL’s Greyhounds. For the season, which includes his time in Windsor, he is 12-7-5 with a 3.01 goals-against average and .909 save percentage.

*RW Matej Stransky (6th round/2011) has points in four straight games (3 goals, 3 assists) for Saskatoon of the WHL. Stransky ranks second on the Blades in scoring with 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) in 31 games.

*F Alex Guptill (3rd round/2010) has points in three straight games (2 goals, 2 assists) for the University of Michigan. Guptill now has 15 points (9 goals, 6 assists) in 20 games. Guptill, a freshman, leads Michigan in goals and is second on the team in points. He is tied for second among CCHA freshmen in overall scoring and is tied for fifth among all CCHA players in goal-scoring.

*F Scott Winkler (3rd round/2008) has points in six straight games (3 goals, 6 assists) for Colorado College. Winkler, a junior, has 16 points (4 goals, 12 assists) in 14 games and leads Colorado College with a plus-8 rating.

*F Reilly Smith (3rd round/2009) had one goal and two assists over the weekend for Miami University. Smith, a junior, has 17 points (12 goals, 5 assists) in 18 games. He is tied for 11th in the nation in goal-scoring at 0.67 goals per game. He also is tied for the overall CCHA goal-scoring lead.

*F Austin Smith (5th round/2007) has 28 points (18 goals, 10 assists) in 17 games for Colgate. Smith, a senior, leads the nation in points and in goals scored. He ranks second in goals per game at 1.06.

*RW Brett Ritchie (2nd round/2011) remains out because of a hip injury for the Sarnia Sting of the OHL. He could return this weekend.

*F Austin Smith (5th round/2007) was named the ECAC’s player of the month for November after he picked up 10 points (8 goals, 2 assists) in 7 games. Smith kept up his torrid pace over the weekend, picking up 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) in two games. Smith, a senior, now has 18 goals and 9 assists in 27 games. He leads the nation in both goals and points.

*F Reilly Smith (3rd round/2009) was named the CCHA’s player of the month for November after registering 9 points (7 goals, 2 assists) in 8 games for Miami University. Smith, a junior, has 11 goals and 3 assists in 16 games.

*F Scott Winkler (3rd round/2008) had one goal and one assist in Colorado College’s 4-3 win over Denver this past weekend. Winkler, a junior, is currently on a four-game points streak (3 goals, 4 assists) and has picked up 14 points (4 goals, 10 assists) in 12 games this season.

F Matej Stransky (6th round/2011) has 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) in his last three games. Stransky is currently tied for 20th in the WHL in scoring with 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 30 games.

*F Brett Ritchie (2nd round/2011) has been out again for the Sarnia Sting of the OHL with what is believed to be a hip issue.

*D Patrik Nemeth (2nd round/2010) and D John Klingberg (5th round/2010) were named to Sweden’s roster for the 2012 World Junior Championship.

*G Jack Campbell (1st round/2010) was named to the USA’s Preliminary roster for the 2012 World Juniors. Campbell is expected to be the team’s No.1 goaltender at the tournament.

*D Jamie Oleksiak (1st round (2011) will attend Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp, which begins Sunday in Calgary. That camp will determine Canada’s roster for the World Juniors.

*RW Reilly Smith (3rd round/2009) was named the CCHA Player of the Week after scoring in three goals in two games as Miami University won the Denver Cup Classic over the weekend. Smith, a junior, has 11 goals and 3 assists in 14 games this season.

*D Jamie Oleksiak (1st round/2011) has 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and a plus-3 rating in his last four games for the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL. Oleksiak has 10 points (6 goals, 4 assists) and a plus-1 rating in 26 games. Oleksiak has been invited to Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp, which will help determine Canada’s roster for the 2012 World Junior Championship.

*G Jack Campbell (1st round/2010) had a shutout in his only appearance over the past week for Sault Ste. Marie of the OHL, stopping 20 shots over 65 minutes. But his team lost 1-0 in a shootout. Campbell is 10-5-3 with a 3.07 goals against average and .907 save percentage.

*RW Brett Ritchie (2nd round/2011) returned to action this past week after missing a couple games with a hip flexor. He had no points in three games, and now has 13 points (6 goals, 7 assists) in 21 games this season.

*F Scott Winkler (3rd round/2008) has points in three straight games (2 goals, 3 assists) for Colorado College. Winkler, a junior, has 12 points (3 goals, 9 assists) in 11 games this season.

Here are some notes and a statistical update on Dallas Stars prospects playing junior hockey, in Europe and in college.

*G Jack Campbell (1st round/2010) stopped 55 of 60 shots in winning both his starts over the past week. Campbell is now 6-0-1 with a 2.24 goals against average a .930 save percentage for Windsor of the OHL. He ranks fifth in the OHL in both goals against average and save percentage and is tied for fourth in wins.

*RW Reilly Smith (3rd round/2009) was the CCHA’s Offensive Player of the Week after picking up four goals and one assist in two games for Miami University over the weekend, including a hat trick in a win over Colgate. The games were the first two of the season for Smith, who sat out opening weekend for violating team rules.

*RW Alex Chiasson (2nd round/2009) scored a goal in Boston University’s 4-3 win over Denver on Saturday. Chiasson has four points (two goals, two assists) and a plus-four rating in three games so far this season.

*F Scott Winkler (3rd round/2008) had three assists and seven shots on goal in Colorado College’s 6-4 victory over Bemidji State on Saturday. Winkler, a junior who has been plagued by injuries his first two seasons, is playing right wing on the Tiger’s top offensive line to start the season.

*Dallas native Austin Smith (5th round/2007) is off to a good start with Colgate. Smith, a senior, has five points (three goals, two assists) in four games. Smith scored one goal as Colgate split a pair of games with nationally ranked Miami over weekend and the Raiders climbed to 14th in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine National Poll and 16th in the USCHO.com National Poll.

*RW Brett Ritchie (2nd round/2011) returned for Sarnia (OHL) after missing three games with an arm injury. He picked up one goal and one assist in his first three games back from the injury.

Here’s an update on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, college and Europe.

*G Jack Campbell (Windsor/OHL) is 2-1 with a 2.00 goals against average and .938 save percentage in the playoff so far. Campbell stopped 40 of 43 shots in a double overtime win over Erie that tied the series at 1-1. Windsor currently leads the best-of-seven series 2-1.

*Scott Glennie (Brandon/WHL) is tied for third in playoff scoring with five points (3 goals, two assists) in three games. Brandon currently leads Medicine Hat 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.

*D Jace Coyle (Medicine Hat/WHL) is tied for the lead in scoring among WHL defensemen in the playoffs with four points (1 goals, 3 assists) in three games.

*D Alex Theriau (Medicine Hat/WHL) missed the first game of the Brandon series with a groin injury, but returned to the play the last two and has one goal so far in the series.

*LW Matt Fraser (Kootenay/WHL) has one goal and one assist in two playoff games. Kootenay and Moose Jaw are tied 1-1 in their best-of-seven series.

*D Hubert Labrie (Gatineau/QMJHL) has one assist in two playoff games. Gatineau leads Rimouski 2-0 in the best-of-seven series.

*Neither RW Reilly Smith nor LW Curtis McKenzie factored in the scoring as Miami University was knocked out of the NCAA tournament by New Hampshire over the weekend.

*Smith ranks fifth in the nation in scoring with 54 points (28 goals and 26 assists) in 38 games. His 28 goals rank fifth nationally as well.

*D Mike Bergin (RPI) and C Scott Winkler (Colorado College) also had their seasons come to an end when their teams were knocked out of the NCAA tournament over the weekend.

Here’s an update on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, college and Europe.

*F Scott Glennie (Brandon/WHL) continues to rack up the points. Glennie had two goals and three assists in two games over the past week. The Stars’ first round pick (8th overall) in 2009 now has 50 points (18 goals, 32 assists) in his last 35 games for the Brandon Wheat Kings. Glennie is currently tied for 10th in the Western Hockey League in scoring with 58 points (20 goals, 38 assists) in 47 games, and his 39 assists rank 9th.

*RW Reilly Smith (Miami University) ranks 10th in the nation in goal scoring with 16 in 25 games (.64 per game) and is 20th in the nation in points with 32 (1.28 per game).

*RW Alex Chiasson (Boston University) is currently tied for 9th in Hockey East scoring with 22 points (8 goals, 14 assists) in 21 games. He’s second among all sophomores. Chiasson ranks 4th nationally with four game-winning goals and is tied for 3rd nationally with two shorthanded goals.

*D Mike Bergin (RPI) ranks 25th nationally among defensemen in scoring with 14 points (2 goals, 12 assists) in 21 games.

*Scott Winkler, who just returned from wrist surgery, picked up one goal and two assists in two games over the weekend as Colorado College won a pair of games against Alabama-Huntsville. The games were the second and third for Winkler since the injury.

*D Hubert Labrie (Gatineau/QMJHL), who not played yet this season due to a knee injury, is expected to return towards the end of the season.

*D Jace Coyle and D Alex Theriau remain out for Medicine Hat (WHL).

Here’s an update on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, college and Europe.

*RW Reilly Smith had three goals and one assist in two games as Miami University won a pair of games against Bowling Green over the weekend. Smith has 31 points (16 goals, 15 assists) and a plus-15 rating in 23 games this season.

*G Jack Campbell won all three of his decisions last week, including both his starts. Campbell, who is now 15-10-0 on the season, has won 13 of his last 18 decisions.

*LW Matt Fraser (Kootenay/WHL) had 8 points (2 goals, 6 assists) and a plus-6 rating in three games over the past week. Fraser has 46 points (20 goals, 26 assists) and a plus-16 rating in 44 games this season.

*D Alex Theriau was traded from Everett (WHL) to Medicine Hat (WHL) last week. Theriau, who is currently out 2-3 weeks with an ankle injury, is a teammate of fellow Stars defense prospect Jace Coyle, who is also sidelined with an injury. Coyle is week-to-week with a knee sprain.

*F Scott Winkler returned to action for Colorado College after missing 18 games following wrist surgery in November.

Here are some notes and the latest statistics on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, college and Europe.

Right wing Alex Chiasson has picked up points in five of the six games he has played for Boston University this season.

Chiasson, the Stars’ second round pick (38th overall) in 2009, had a three-game goal scoring streak end in a 2-2 tie with Maine on Saturday, but he did pick up an assist to run his points streak to four games.

Chiasson has 3 goals, 4 assists and a plus-3 rating in six games Boston University, which is currently the No.1 ranked team in the nation.

While the 20-year-old Chiasson is putting up some good offensive numbers and is tied for fifth on the team in points, he is playing on what is considered Boston University’s best defensive line as well.

Some other prospect notes:
  • Goaltender Jack Campbell, the Stars first round pick (11th overall) in 2010, signed an entry-level contract with Dallas last week. Campbell (Windsor/OHL) is 6-6-0 with a 3.82 goals against average and. 882 save percentage so far this season.
  • Forward Scott Glennie, the Stars’ first round pick (8th overall) in 2009, put together a five-game points streak where he had nine assists. The streak ended over the weekend. Glennie has 17 points (2 goals, 15 assists) in 18 games for Brandon of the WHL.
  • Defenseman John Klingberg ended up with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) in 4 games for Sweden’s Under-20 team, which played four exhibition games against U.S. colleges. Klingberg had a goal and an assist in an 8-2 win over Williams College on Friday. Sweden lost its final game, falling 5-1 to the University of Massachusetts on Saturday.
  • Defenseman Jace Coyle is listed as day-to-day with a knee injury for Medicine Hat of the WHL.
  • Forward Scott Winkler remains out with an injury for Colorado College.

Here are some notes and the latest statistics on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, college and Europe.

Right wing Reilly Smith (Miami University), who had two goals and three assists in two games over the weekend, was named the CCHA Offensive Player of the Week.

Smith now has seven goals, four assists and a plus-11 rating in seven games for the RedHawks. The line of left wing Andy Miele, center Carter Camper, and Smith have combined for 50 points (20 goals, 30 assists) for Miami, which is currently the top-ranked team in the nation.

Smith, a sophomore, was the Stars’ 3rd round pick (69th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Some other prospect notes:
  • Goaltender Jack Campbell is on a roll for the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL. He won all three of his starts over the past week, posting a 2.33 goals against average and .925 save percentage. Campbell has now won his last four starts and has a 2.00 goals against average and .935 save percentage during that stretch. For the season Campbell is 6-5-0 with a 3.81 GAA and .882 save percentage.
  • F Scott Glennie picked up six assists in his last three games for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League.
  • Defenseman John Klingberg is currently touring the United States with Sweden’s Under-20 team, which is playing a series of games against college teams. Klingberg has picked up one assist in each of Sweden’s two games so far, a victory over Harvard and a loss to Merrimack. The Swedes have games left against Williams College and Massachusetts.
  • D Alex Theriau (Everett/WHL) returned after missing about one week with a groin injury.
  • F Scott Winkler (Colorado College) has been out with an undisclosed injury.
