Outfielder Marlon Byrd and catcher Ivan Rodriguez declined the Texas Rangers' salary arbitration offers late Monday, as expected.

Texas now receives a supplemental first-round pick for each of the players because both are Type B free agents. Declining arbitration does not keep the Rangers from negotiating with them.

Update: Rodriguez has agreed to a two-year, $6 million with the Washington Nationals, according to MLB.com.
