SURPRISE, Ariz. -- One guy the Rangers targeted this offseason (and even the last few weeks) was catcher Jose Molina. He was another veteran catching option the club was hoping to bring in as insurance and added catching depth just in case Jarrod Saltalamacchia had any more setbacks.
But Molina signed a major league deal with the Toronto Blue Jays for $400,000. If he's on the roster opening day, he'll get $1 million guaranteed ($800,000 salary this season and a $1.2 million club option in 2011 that includes a $200,000 buyout.
