As Jim Reeves has discussed the last few days, the Rangers continue to keep an eye on Mike Lowell. ESPNBoston.com's Gordon Edes has a story up talking about Lowell and how he's done this spring training.

The Rangers would like a right-handed bat that could play first base. But do they want to spend $3 million or can they on that (if that's still the deal...maybe they instead add in a prospect so Boston pays more of Lowell's salary)?

The Rangers could decide to go internal (Matt Brown) for that final spot, but they are also looking at external options.
