ARLINGTON, Texas -- After 6 2/3 hitless innings, the Royals suddenly became an offensive juggernaut.

OK, that might be an overraction to a couple of two-out extra base hits that gave Kansas City a 1-0 lead over the Rangers.

Willie Eyre, who came in for the seventh inning, gave up the no-hit bid when Jose Guillen blasted a double to left-center. Mitch Maier slapped a triple to the left field corner the next at-bat, scoring Guillen.

Maybe the Rangers' bats will wake up now. They've been stuck on one hit for six innings.
