Two innings were not played to completion and Oklahoma City batted in the ninth, despite holding the lead as the home team. For the RedHawks, first baseman Justin Smoak collected a pair of hits (2-for-5, 2 runs), including a deep home run down the right-field line to lead off the second inning. Designated-hitter Chad Tracy (1-for-5) added a 2-run drive to left in the third inning. Oklahoma City tallied 12 hits on the afternoon, with Craig Gentry (2 RBI), Mitch Moreland (1 RBI) and Hernan Iribarren (2 RBI) picking up 2 apiece. Left-hander Michael Ballard tossed 3.0 scoreless frames for the victory and struck out 3. For Frisco, Wes Bankston and Jonathan Greene led the club with 2 hits each and Tanner Scheppers pitched a scoreless ninth with one strikeout.
Both Rangers affiliates are slated to kick off their respective regular season schedules on Thursday night. The RedHawks are set to host the Albuquerque Isotopes for a 7:05 p.m. CDT first pitch at AT&T Bricktown Park in Oklahoma City. At Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, the RoughRiders will square off against the Springfield Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. CDT.
