ARLINGTON, Texas -- Basking in the glow of the Rangers second win of the season was second baseman Ian Kinsler, who has yet to play this season with right-high ankle sprain.
Kinsler, who has taken two injections, the latest on Thursday to reduce swelling near the Achilles, said he expects to workout on Saturday and if possible start running Sunday or Monday.
When the Rangers get to Cleveland on April 12, Kinsler said he's hopeful to run the bases.
Kinsler has missed the last three weeks of spring training and the first week of the season with this injury. If he doesn't have any setbacks he will do a rehab stint of about four to five days and then he'll be ready to go.
"I got the ideal time, but the way this thing is going, it's hard to say," Kinsler said. "It's still healing. I'm still a little sore from the shot. I couldn't run or jump because of the Achilles and the shot cleared that up."
