Bullpen loses lead for Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Things have taken a different turn at the ballpark.

We are tied at 9-9 going into the bottom of the sixth inning. It all came to an end when reliever Dustin Nippert gave up a three-run home run to Scott Podsednik(four RBIs) to right center. The blast traveled 412 feet and forced manager Ron Washington to pull Nippert.

When the night was done, Nippert allowed five earned runs on four hits in one-third of an inning. Nippert was booed as he walked off the mound.

Starter Matt Harrison left with a 8-4 lead. He threw 95 pitches, just over his 90 pitch limit, however Washington and a trainer visited him in the fifth to check on his left throwing shoulder. After the inning, Harrison was getting the front part of his shoulder checked out.

On the night, Ranger pitching has given up nine earned runs on eight hits, with four walks and two home runs allowed.
