Stephen Strasburg, the Nationals' top pick, is obviously getting all the pub right now in Triple-A. He had seven strikeouts in six hitless innings last night. In two starts at the Triple-A level, Strasburg has yet to allow a run in 12 IP while allowing just one hit. But as the good folks at ESPN Stats & Information point out, Rangers pitcher Derek Holland also performed well in Triple-A and that translated into a solid start on Wednesday.
Holland's minor league numbers stack up with Strasburg:
* Derek Holland: 38.2 IP, 0.93 ERA and 5.3-to-1 K:BB ratio
Stephen Strasburg: 34 IP, 1.06 ERA and 5-to-1 K:BB ratio
* Holland pitched six shutout innings in his major-league season debut Wednesday, striking out seven.
