Michael Young came up empty in his first two at-bats against Marlins ace Josh Johnson and remains at 1,746 hits with the Rangers, one behind Ivan Rodriguez for most in team history.

Johnson struck out Young both times, although the Rangers have managed four hits and a run in the first three innings.

Johnson entered the game holding left-handed batters to a .168 average, but reigning AL co-player of the week Josh Hamilton tagged him for an RBI single up the middle in the top of the first inning to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead.

Rangers starter C.J. Wilson is off to a good start, blanking the Marlins through three innings. He has allowed two walks and one hit.

The Rangers have turned two double plays, including one to end the third inning, and head into the fourth with a 1-0 lead.
