Rangers-Pirates: Hamilton in lineup

ARLINGTON, Texas -- This brutal three-game series between the Rangers and Pirates finally comes to a close Thursday. The only big change with the lineup is that Josh Hamilton has returned after missing a day with a tight hamstring. The Rangers didn't take outdoor batting practice. Here's the lineup and news from the clubhouse:

SS Elvis Andrus

3B Michael Young

2B Ian Kinsler

DH Vladimir Guerrero

LF Josh Hamilton

RF Nelson Cruz

1B Justin Smoak

C Matt Treanor

CF Julio Borbon

P Scott Feldman

LF Jose Tabata

2B Neil Walker

CF Andrew McCutchen

1B Garrett Jones

DH Ryan church

3B Pedro Alvarez

C Ryan Doumit

RF Lastings Milledge

SS Bobby Crosby

P Jeff Karstens

Notes: Josh Hamilton said his hamstring has been tight for about a month and that he just wanted to take a day off Wednesday as a precaution. The surprise here is that manager Ron Washington said he didn't know anything about the hamstring. “That’s what he told you guys?" Washington responded to reporters. "I think you have to get that information from Hamilton." ... Washington isn't sure who will pitch Tuesday at Anaheim. He could use Dustin Nippert, Matt Harrison or call up Guillermo Moscoso from Triple-A Oklahoma City. ... Nelson Cruz, who is back after a strained hamstring injury kept him out of the lineup since May 29, said he felt fine after playing Wednesday night. ... Rich Harden threw off the mound on Thursday.
