Will there be any repercussions from a few incidents in Monday’s 9-3 Indians victory in the series opener?

*Indians right fielder Austin Kearns was hit by a pitch three times by three different Rangers’ pitchers.

Starter Omar Beltre hit Kearns in the third inning, Dustin Nippert got him in the fourth and Alexi Ogando clipped him in the eighth.

Kearns, hitless in his other two plate appearances Monday, had been hit by pitch only twice this season in his previous 68 games.

*Indians reliever Chris Perez threw a pitch at shoulder height behind Elvis Andrus in the bottom of the eighth.

*Andrus was involved in a third-inning play at first base that eventually sent Indians first baseman Matt LaPorta for a precautionary trip to the hospital. While legging out an infield hit, Andrus seemed to catch LaPorta with an elbow as the first baseman backed into the running lane to try and field a one-hop throw. LaPorta fell flat on his back and seemed to be out for a few seconds. He left the game at the end of the inning.
