Fantasy: Does Cristian Guzman have value?

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- One aspect of the Cristian Guzman trade, which should be announced officially today, that we haven't covered is the fantasy angle. ESPN.com's Eric Karabell has that handled for us. And he doesn't think it's worth owning Guzman right now. Part of his blog entry:
It's tough to see Guzman mattering in fantasy, because he doesn't have much power or base-stealing prowess, and his stint as a regular player with the Rangers doesn't figure to last longer than two weeks. Kinsler is expected to return to the lineup when eligible August 12. Guzman is certainly a smarter defensive option for second base than Cantu, but he's not much of a factor at the plate. Guzman is a career .272 hitter batting .282 with two home runs and four stolen bases. He hasn't reached double-digits in homers or steals since 2004, when he was on the Minnesota Twins. He shouldn't be owned in anywhere close to the 22.1 percent of ESPN standard (10-team) mixed leagues he is now.

Cantu isn't likely to get his extra second base eligibility now, and the team says he will split first base duties with recent call-up Mitch Moreland, a lefty hitter. Slugger and strikeout artist Chris Davis has been sent to Triple-A Oklahoma City. It's certainly possible that if Moreland hits, and Kinsler returns in two weeks, Cantu will join Guzman as a rather expensive bench part, and not very valuable in fantasy.
