Felix Hernandez pitched no-hit ball into the eighth inning, and the Mariners' early speed was sufficient enough to produce a 2-1 win and end the Rangers' winning streak at seven.

Mitch Moreland and Chris Davis managed singles after Nelson Cruz's home run ended Hernandez's bid for a no-hitter in the eighth. But Julio Borbon's pop-up ended the threat.

Hernandez's night ended after Borbon's at-bat. He finished with eight strikeouts in eight innings to go with the three hits and earned run.

Starter C.J. Wilson held his own for the Rangers, also going eight innings while striking out six and allowing six hits. But five stolen bases early on allowed the Mariners to break through first and generate all the offense they would need.

Mariners closer David Aardsma retired the side in order in the ninth to earn his 20th save of the season.
