Pitchers in charge through 4 innings

Tommy Hunter and Doug Fister are in control of Sunday's game in Seattle, with no runs and a total of five hits allowed through four innings.

Hunter has allowed just two hits, both singles, while striking out one and walking none. He got former Ranger Justin Smoak on a long fly to right center to end the fourth.

Fister has allowed three hits, also all singles, while striking out two and walking none.

It doesn't look like the Rangers are going to get any help in Minnesota today. The A's lead the Twins, 6-2, in the top of the ninth. The Rangers' magic number for clinching the AL West title heading into Sunday's games was 6.
