Francoeur, Rangers strike first, 2-0


ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Texas Rangers right fielder Jeff Francoeur, the last acquisition made by the club, drove a David Price pitch to deep center for a double to drive in the game's first run in the top of the second.

Francoeur drove in Ian Kinsler, who led off the second with a liner to left. No. 9 hitter Bengie Molina, another mid-season acquisition, followed with an RBI single to right, giving the Rangers two runs driven in by the bottom of the order.

In a wild, but scoreless first inning, Price and Cliff Lee both threw 24 pitches.

Price left runners on first and second, while Lee left the bases loaded with just one out. He got Carlos Pena looking after Pena was called for a foul-top strike two after he thought it was ball 3. Then Lee got DH Rocco Baldelli
