Rangers seize lead again, 2-1, in fourth

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Rays gift-wrapped another run for the Texas Rangers. Catcher Kelly Shoppach's throw to third as Nelson Cruz attempted to steal sailed way over the head of Evan Longoria and into left field to give Texas a 2-1 lead after four.

Rays pitcher David Price was humming along after getting Josh Hamilton to look at strike three and Vladimir Guerrero to fly out to right. But, Cruz, who hit a two-out solo homer off Price in Game 1, nearly did it again. This one banged off the wall in left-center for a double. He attempted to steal on the first pitch to Ian Kinsler. A good throw likely nails him.

In the first inning, the Rays fell asleep as Elvis Andrus scored from second base on a Hamilton hopper to first. Carlos Pena fielded and tossed it to Price for the out, but no one paid attention to Andrus, who rounded third, slowed, and then took off for home and slid in without a throw.
