NEW YORK -- Cliff Lee ended the seventh inning by striking out Marcus Thames, his 11th K of the night.

That ties his postseason career high, which he set in the Game 5 win over Tampa Bay.

Lee's performance has postseason historical significance. He's the only pitcher in major league history with three straight 10-plus-K performances in the same postseason. Hall of Famer Bob Gibson is the only other pitcher to strike out at least 10 in three straight playoff starts, which he did in 1967 and '68.

Lee joins Gibson and Randy Johnson as the only pitchers with five 10-strikout playoff performances. Lee has had at least 10 Ks in five of his last six playoff starts.
