ARLINGTON, Texas -- This is the 52nd time the 106 World Series played that a team has taken a 2-0 lead. What does it mean?

* Of the previous 51 occurrences, 40 of those teams with a 2-0 lead went on to win the championship (78.4 percent). That includes the last seven times it's happened (Yankees in 1998, 99, 2000), Arizona (2001), Boston (2004 and 2007), Chicago (2005).

* The last team to have a 2-0 lead and not win the World Series were the Braves, who won the first two games on the road in Yankee Stadium, but lost the next four in 1996.

* The last team to win the first two games at home and lose the World Series was the 1981 Yankees. They had a 2-0 lead over the Dodgers and lost the series.
