Ron Washington nearing new deal
Club president Nolan Ryan said Wednesday that Washington and the team had a scheduled meeting for Thursday to discuss the new deal. Ryan said after that’s done, it will be general manager Jon Daniels’ turn to sign a long-term deal.
“I expect them both to be back next year and I think that’s their expectation too,” Ryan said “I don’t see any issues there.”
Ryan said the club wanted to take care of Washington this week before the manager heads back home to New Orleans.
