According to an SI.com report, the Rangers have suffered their first loss of the offseason.

The report says that the Pittsburgh Pirates have hired Rangers hitting coach Clint Hurdle to be their new manager and the official announcement will be made Monday. The Pirates fired John Russell after three straight last-place finishes.

It will be Hurdle's second managerial job. He led the Colorado Rockies from 2002-09, including a World Series season in 2007.

The Rangers will be looking for a new hitting coach for the second straight year. They hired Hurdle last year to replace longtime hitting guru Rudy Jaramillo, who moved on to the Chicago Cubs.
