Rangers sign catcher Yorvit Torrealba

The Rangers addressed one of their offseason needs Monday when they signed free-agent catcher Yorvit Torrealba two a two-year, $6.25 million contract.

Torrealba hit .271 with seven home runs and 37 RBIs in 95 games with the San Diego Padres in 2010. He's a career .257 hitter in nine seasons. He has also played for the Rockies, Giants and Mariners.

The Rangers were in the market for a catcher with Bengie Molina expected to retire.
