LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Before heading back to Texas, club president Nolan Ryan was on ESPN's "Mike and Mike in the Morning" and was told of the Yankees' seven-year offer for Cliff Lee.
|Texas Rangers president Nolan Ryan joins Mike and Mike to react to news of the Yankees' seven-year offer to Cliff Lee, and Ryan says it'll make it more challenging for the Rangers to sign the left-hander.
Ryan didn't say the seven years was over what the Rangers could or would do. But he added: "Everything has a ceiling that they have to understand what it is. And it doesn't make economic sense after a certain threshold."
Ryan was asked to about his club's chances of landing Lee now that the Yankees appear headed to seven years.
"Well you know if the reports that are coming out are true, obviously that makes it more challenging for us," he said. "We're scheduled to meet with them [Lee's representatives] again, hopefully today."
