Injuries: Craig Gentry gets cortisone shot
Gentry, who fractured a bone running into a wall in Triple-A last year, also had an X-ray and CT scan and it showed that the wrist is improving.
"It's been stiff and sore, so hopefully this will help," Gentry said. "I have to take it easy for a day, but after that we're going to get aggressive to help get it to move better."
Rangers assistant GM Thad Levine said the club is hopeful Gentry will be ready to go for full squad workouts on Sunday.
"I wish I was coming here healthy," Gentry said. "This doesn't help my situation, but it's a part of baseball. I have to stay positive and work to get better."
Other injury notes:
* Omar Beltre's spinal surgery remains on target for Tuesday in Dallas. He should return to Arizona two or three days after it and will be out six to eight weeks before he can do anything. After that, he'll have try to get in full shape. So he may not be available until July. And that's a best case scenario.
