Michael Young gets pointers at first base
He didn't take any grounders, but went over foot work. Young said he expects to get some early work at first base on Monday.
"It's stuff like holding guys on, pivot on double plays if I get a ground ball there," Young said. "One thing we talked about was how to put your foot on the bag when receiving balls. A lot of guys when they play first base for the first time get crushed by baserunners because they get their foot stomped on the bag. I don't want to get stepped on anytime soon."
Young, 34, did take grounders at second base on Sunday and said he felt good. Young said he would move around to various positions to make sure he's good at first, second and third.
