SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre has Grade I calf strain and will miss 10-14 days of games. He will not participate in any baseball activities until next week.

An MRI taken Thursday revealed no tear. A Grade I strain is the least severe. The club does not expect this to hinder his ability to be ready for Opening Day.

“Nobody wants to be hurt,” Beltre said. “The positive side would be that it’s better to happen now than during the season. I have time to get healthy.”

Other injuries:

* LHP Miguel De Los Santos (biceps tendinitis) threw bullpen session and continues to progress.

* RHP Eric Hurley (left hamstring strain) threw off mound and is getting ramped up.

* RHP Mason Tobin (arm soreness) has had a bullpen session and felt good and will get on a regular schedule with the rest of the staff.

* OF Craig Gentry (broken right wrist) is still taking swings with a fungo and was tracking live batting practice on Thursday as he makes steady progress.
