PEORIA, Ariz. -- Big league wannabe Chris Davis' spring keeps getting better.

His fourth homer of the spring was a towering grand slam off San Diego's All-Star closer Heath Bell. The ball landed by the palm trees on top of the grass berm behind the outfield fence in right-center.

The fence is 385 feet from home plate. This shot went about 450.

"Jesus, he got into that," manager Ron Washington said. "He got that. Bell tried to grunt on him and he got that."

Davis, who celebrated his 25th birthday on St. Patrick's Day, is now hitting .410 with a Cactus League-leading 15 RBI.

"He's relaxed and confident," Washington said. "He's staying over the plate. He's not pulling off the ball. He's not chasing very many breaking balls. When they come in the zone with something, he's not missing it. That's when you're locked in. He's locked in."

There might not be room for Davis on the Rangers' roster, but he looks every bit like a big leaguer this spring.
