Not only did they add the two injured sluggers to the active roster, but they called up right-handed reliever Yoshinori Tateyama from Triple-A Round Rock.
To make room for the three players, infielder Chris Davis, catcher Taylor Teagarden and right-handed reliever Cody Eppley were optioned to Round Rock.
Tateyama, 35, signed with Texas in the offseason after 11 seasons with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters in the Japanese Pacific League. He has never pitched in the majors.
Davis started the season at Round Rock and hit .250 with three homers and four RBIs in 20 games since being called up to the Rangers on April 13.
Eppley made 10 appearances, allowing eight runs in nine innings, for the Rangers after being called up April 23.
