Rangers prepare for no DH this weekend

ATLANTA -- The Rangers won't have the option of using the DH this weekend at Turner Field in Atlanta. So that requires some mixing and matching on the part of manager Ron Washington.

He said Thursday that he plans on playing Michael Young at first base and shifting Mitch Moreland to the outfield. Washington may give Young a day off on Sunday (day game), but hasn't decided that yet. He certainly wants his bat in the lineup for most of this series.

By moving Moreland to right field, Josh Hamilton would go to center.

"It's not easy on the American League teams, is it?" Washington said. "We'll do what we can to keep as many bats in there as we can."

It also means the pitchers get an opportunity to hit. Colby Lewis, tonight's starter, will get his shot first and then Matt Harrison and Alexi Ogando. Long relievers Dave Bush and Michael Kirkman also took some swings over the past few days at Yankee Stadium in preparation.
