PHOENIX -- It will be a busy Monday night for Rangers pitcher C.J. Wilson. And no, he's not going to grab a bat and compete in the State Farm Home Run Derby (though he might be tempted).

Jeff Gross/Getty Images"Why not?" said C.J. Wilson when given the opportunity to take photos during the Home Run Derby.
In addition to tweeting for Major League Baseball (and those tweets will appear in the ESPN.com chat room, BTW), Wilson was asked to photograph the Derby as well.

"They're giving me a chance to photograph right there in the grass by the players, so why not?" Wilson said Monday. "I’ll have a uniform, but I'll have two cameras on me and my phone so I can tweet. I’m doing whatever I can to make myself relevant because I probably won’t make a difference in the game at all."

Photography is one of Wilson's many hobbies. He said he owns two Canons that are "just like the pros use" and has had the opportunity to take photos in some memorable spots. Among his best photos are some shots of his teammates during early batting practice in Seattle early in the season, photos of the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona over the offseason and a safari to Africa.

"I was changing out lenses with Rhinos running around," Wilson said.

The left-handed pitcher has his own production company, so he'll have some help if needed. He plans on showing some of his photos on his website, leftylefty.com, and they could end up on the telecast on Tuesday.
