Club announces June minor league awards

Tepesch, 22, was 3-0 with a 2.23 ERA (9 ER/36.1 IP) and 37 strikeouts against 9 walks, while holding opposing South Atlantic League batters to a .211 average (28-133) over 6 games/starts and one complete game with Low-A Hickory. The Blue Springs, Missouri product held SAL hitters to the 9th-lowest average and was the only pitcher on the circuit to record a complete game during the month of June. The 6-foot-4 right-hander out of the University of Missouri earned South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week honors for June 6-12 following a 10-strikeout performance on June 7 vs. Lakewood. Overall, Tepesch has gone 5-3 with a 3.12 ERA and 71 strikeouts against 19 walks in 20 games/14 starts this season. Tepesch was selected in the 14th round of the 2010 June draft and signed by Dustin Smith.
Mendonca, 23, batted .375 (39-104) with 11 walks, 11 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs, and 30 RBI over 25 games with Double-A Frisco in the month of June. Mendonca, who was also named the TOPPS Player of the Month for the Texas League, hit safely in 22-of-25 games during the month, while also boasting streaks of 13 consecutive games with a hit, 10 consecutive games with a RBI, and 11 consecutive games with an extra-base hit during the month. The Fresno State product ranks among the Texas League leaders in hits (3rd, 97), RBI (3rd, 64), home runs (T5th, 16), doubles (T6th, 20), and batting (7th, .319), while also rating statistically as the top defender at third base in the Texas League with a .947 fielding percentage. Mendonca was selected in the 2nd round of the 2009 June draft and signed by Butch Metzger.
Rodriguez, 27, spent the entire month of June with Double-A Frisco, starting 26 of the club’s 27 games at shortstop and committing just 2 errors. Overall, Rodriguez has committed just 7 errors, while tallying the 3rd-most total chances by a Texas League shortstop this season. The Venezuela native is in his 2nd season in the Texas organization and has collected a career-high 37 RBI in 80 games with Frisco, while batting .275 (78-284) with 9 doubles and 2 triple. Rodriguez was promoted to Triple-A Round Rock on July 9.
Rodebaugh, 22, did not allow an earned run (one unearned run) over 14.0 innings and 9 relief appearances, while going 8-for-8 in save chances with Low-A Hickory in June to claim his second Reliever of the Month award this season (April). The Kennesaw State product recorded 17 strikeouts against just 4 walks and ended the month with 8 straight scoreless appearances, a span of 12.0 innings. The South Atlantic League batted just .071 (3-42) with runners in scoring position and .100 (2-20) with runners in scoring position with 2 outs against Rodebaugh this season. The right-hander was 1-2 with a 0.41 ERA (2 ER/44.2 IP) over 28 games with the Crawdads before a promotion to High-A Myrtle Beach this month, where he has worked 1.0 scoreless inning to lower his season ERA to 0.40. Rodebaugh was selected in the 15th round of the 2010 June draft and signed by Ryan Coe.
