Nelson Cruz exits with tight left quad

Rangers right fielder Nelson Cruz exited in the bottom of the fifth inning of Friday night's game against the Blue Jays because of tightness in his left quad.

Cruz hit his 23rd home run of the season in the second inning, a laser beam over the left-field wall that gave the Rangers an early 1-0 lead.

The Rangers switched their defensive alignment, moving Josh Hamilton to left, David Murphy to right, and Endy Chavez entered the game to play center.
