Rangers on top of ESPN Web Gem list

August, 18, 2011
Mark Simon, of ESPN's Stats & Information, noticed he'd been seeing a lot of Rangers on ESPN's Web Gems. So he checked, and the Rangers have more Web Gems than anyone in the majors. Heading into Wednesday's games, Texas led the majors with 37 Web Gems, two more than the Indians and Brewers.

In case you're curious, here's the list:

* Despite his injury, third baseman Adrian Beltre leads all third basemen with eight Web Gems, one more than Orioles third baseman Mark Reynolds. Elvis Andrus is tied for fifth place among shortstops with eight. Ian Kinsler’s seven rank second among second basemen, two fewer than Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips.

Elvis Andrus: 8
Adrian Beltre: 8
Ian Kinsler: 7
Craig Gentry: 3
Michael Young: 2
Andres Blanco: 2
Josh Hamilton: 1
David Murphy: 1
Julio Borbon: 1
Nelson Cruz: 1
